U.K. transport secretary Grant Shapps has launched a £2 billion plan to boost cycling and walking both during and after the lockdown. This plan starts with £250 million to enable local authorities to pay cycling and walking infrastructure to favor for physical distancing during lockdown. The government therefore expects local authorities to make significant changes to their road layouts to give more space to cyclists and pedestrians.
